2021- Exhibition about fear “Bang!”, Antwerpen, Belgium

Installation: wood construction, Polaroid photography, mixed media
Sound: Pierre-Emmanuel Maréchal Mind in box presents a series of Polaroid photographs illustrating the mind in different vulnerable states. It is an interactive installation where the visitors are invited to enter one by one the wooden box, in complete darkness. At the entrance they are handed a flashlight, to search the photographs on the interior walls of the box. I intended to build such a small, claustrophobic room where only one person can fit to suggest discomfort just as you enter someone’s mind and feel uncomfortable for intrusion. To strengthen the experience, I chose the album “Mirages & Ondulations” by musician / composer, Pierre-Emmanuel Maréchal.
“Mirages & Ondulations” could be a soundtrack. That of a film, or a series of pictures, reflecting a strange world, in which a character would seek to give meaning to elements that do not have a special meaning... Recorded between August and December 2020, this album is the result of various experiments and other sound collages, highlighting different moods throughout the tracks.
